Chicken Sandwich Fritter

Total Time: 3 hrs 10 mins Preparation Time: 3 hrs Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 2 cups chicken, finely chopped
  • 3/4 cup sauce
  • 1 egg yolk, beaten
  • 8 slices bread
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/8 cup milk
  • 8 tablespoons butter

Recipe

  • 1 mix chicken, sauce, and egg yolk together. (make sure meat is chopped fine).
  • 2 trim crusts from bread. (i wasn't this fancy.).
  • 3 spread filling 1/4 inch thick on 4 slices bread. (i had left over filling but egg mixture was spot on for 4 sandwiches).
  • 4 top with remaining bread slices.
  • 5 press lightly together.
  • 6 wrap in wax paper.
  • 7 place in refrigerator until ready to fry. (i just used cold chicken and warm sauce and fried it up.).
  • 8 dip sandwiches in egg and milk batter.
  • 9 fry in butter until browned on both sides; fry slowly so the filling warms up.
  • 10 slice in half on diagonal.
