Dairy Free Cheese

Total Time: 12 hrs Cook Time: 12 hrs

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups water, room temp
  • 3 tablespoons agar-agar
  • 1 teaspoon agar-agar
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 2 cups raw cashews
  • 3 tablespoons nutritional yeast
  • 2 teaspoons granulated onion
  • 1/4 teaspoon granulated garlic
  • 2 -3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt

Recipe

  • 1 combine the agar agar with the 1 1/2 cups water at room temperature bring this to a boil and simmer for 2 minutes then add the other water.
  • 2 now pour into a blender and add the cashews and remaining ingredients. blend until creamy.
  • 3 pour into a bread pan, cover and refrigerate overnight.
  • 4 you may freeze after it firms up.
  • 5 note: i don't think this will melt but i could be wrong. the authors say it reminds them of the american cheese food and works on sandwiches or you can shred for pizza.
  • 6 servings depend on use and taste.
