Chicken Shawarma

Total Time: 3 hrs Preparation Time: 2 hrs Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts, chopped shopping list
  • 5 garlic cloves, chopped (or more according to your taste)
  • 5 green onions, diced
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons curry powder (or more according to your taste)
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 -2 teaspoon ground pepper

Recipe

  • 1 chop chicken into medium sized pieces.
  • 2 in a bowl, whisk together the garlic, green onion, lemon juice and olive oil.
  • 3 then add the curry powder, cumin, salt and pepper; whisk all together.
  • 4 add the chicken and coat it completely with the marinade.
  • 5 if time permits, leave the chicken to marinate in the fridge for at least an hour.
  • 6 preheat pan to medium heat.
  • 7 pour chicken and all marinade into pan and grill until chicken is fully cooked through.
  • 8 serve with heated pita bread and tahini sauce.
