Grilled Cheese For Grown-ups

Ingredients
- 2 slices bread (i use whole wheat italian)
- 2 slices light processed cheese (like kraft)
- 4 raw asparagus spears
- butter (optional, for pan) or margarine (optional, for pan)
Recipe
- 1 preheat a frying pan or griddle and spray with cooking spray or melt butter/margarine over medium heat.
- 2 break off bottoms of asparagus spears at the point they naturally break.
- 3 sauté for several minutes.
- 4 at the same time, either butter your bread or place it plain on the griddle or pan.
- 5 top with one slice of cheese.
- 6 do the same with the other slice.
- 7 when asparagus is tender-crisp, place it on top of one slice of bread.
- 8 place other slice on top and continue frying to melt the cheese.
- 9 when the bread is nicely toasted and the cheese is melted enough to hold on the asparagus, remove from heat season with salt and pepper to your liking.
