Homemade Ice Cream Sandwiches

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 (18 1/4 ounce) package chocolate cake mix
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 1/4 cup butter or 1/4 cup margarine, softened
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 gallon ice cream

Recipe

  • 1 in a mixing bowl, combine cake mix, shortening, butter, egg, water, and vanilla.
  • 2 beat until well blended.
  • 3 divide into 4 equal parts.
  • 4 between two sheets of waxed paper, roll one part into a 10-in x 6-in rectangle. remove one piece of waxed paper and flip dough onto an ungreased baking sheet.
