Portobello Mushroom Burgers

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 medium carrot
  • 4 slices reduced-fat provolone cheese
  • 8 garlic cloves
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 3 cups portabella mushrooms
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion
  • 4 kaiser rolls
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 slices tomatoes

Recipe

  • 1 heat 1 tablespoon of the olive oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.
  • 2 add the onion and garlic; cook, stirring constantly, until aromatic and tender, about 2 minutes.
  • 3 add the mushrooms and carrot; continue to cook until they are tender, about 4 more minutes.
  • 4 layer the bottom half of a bun with lettuce, a burger, and a tomato slice. top with the upper half of the bun and serve hot.
  • 5 toast bread in oven or on panini grill until lightly browned.
  • 6 spread them with your choice of mayonnaise, cheese, or mustard.
