Meaty Calzones

Ingredients

- 3/4 lb ground beef
- 1 cup marinara sauce or 1 cup pizza sauce
- 1 tablespoon italian seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 package prepared pizza crust
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tablespoon water
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 400.
- 2 spray baking sheet with non-stick spray.
- 3 brown the meat, drain and transfer to mixing bowl.
- 4 add marinara and italian seasoning; mix together well.
- 5 add salt and pepper.
- 6 make 4 circles from the dough, approx.
- 7 8 inches in diameter.
- 8 place circles on baking sheet and spoon 1/4 of the meat mixture onto each circle, being careful not to place too close to the edge (it won't seal and your fillings will leak out).
- 9 top each circle with 1/4 of the cheese.
- 10 fold over one edge and press down to seal, using your finger or an oiled wooden spoon handle.
- 11 brush top of calzone with a mixture of beaten egg and water.
- 12 bake for 15 minutes, or until crust is golden.
