Meaty Calzones

Total Time: 35 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 3/4 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup marinara sauce or 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 tablespoon italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 package prepared pizza crust
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon water

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 400.
  • 2 spray baking sheet with non-stick spray.
  • 3 brown the meat, drain and transfer to mixing bowl.
  • 4 add marinara and italian seasoning; mix together well.
  • 5 add salt and pepper.
  • 6 make 4 circles from the dough, approx.
  • 7 8 inches in diameter.
  • 8 place circles on baking sheet and spoon 1/4 of the meat mixture onto each circle, being careful not to place too close to the edge (it won't seal and your fillings will leak out).
  • 9 top each circle with 1/4 of the cheese.
  • 10 fold over one edge and press down to seal, using your finger or an oiled wooden spoon handle.
  • 11 brush top of calzone with a mixture of beaten egg and water.
  • 12 bake for 15 minutes, or until crust is golden.
